You tossed your marker \u2014 a bean bag, a pebble, anything \u2014 into the numbered squares. Then you hopped. One foot in single squares. Two feet for side-by-side. Avoid the square with the stone. Don't lose your balance. Don't laugh so hard you fall over.<\/p>

It was simple. It was free. And it kept us outside for hours.<\/p>

Hand drawn by hand<\/strong><\/p>

I drew this hopscotch design myself \u2014 by hand, not on a computer. Every line is slightly imperfect, the way real chalk on real pavement always was.<\/p>

Because the best games weren't perfect. They were real.<\/p>
